Session Overview
In-game Date: 20 Falkhyn 1197md, Afternoon
- The heroes have taken a temporary breather, the door to the goblins has been sealed and the adjacent passage blocked by stone.
- Making preparations, they cast Protection on both Glint and Garax (the meat shields).
- They unlock the door and the goblins come through.
- Davian kills one from the rear rank with an arrow.
- Magpie bolts one from the front rank and kills it.
- Garax steps up and eviscerates the last of the front rank.
- Glint moves on to attack the last goblins, but manages to self-weld his hand axes together.
- Frustrated, he drops them and limbers his battle axe to take out the final Goblin.
- Glint tried the salted fish in the barrel and finds it palatable.
- The heroes take a moment to grab some and eat it.
- Elowen shapechanges into a small dog and makes her way along the passageway.
- She spots four beings, one of which is being barked at by a small dog.
- The beings look like small bipedal dogs with fine scales, small horns and snouts.
- She scents blood, scales, parchment and wet dog.
- She returns to the party and quickly surmises the situation.
- Garax and Davian confirm that these are kobolds.
- She walks up the passageway and steps into the doorway.
This room was once used as a scriptorium. Commands and edicts from the capitol in Aufstrag were copied and sent on from here. Copious records of all this were also kept. The records were partially destroyed when the temple was abandoned, and most those that remained decayed with time.
This room has three kobolds and their Kobold leader in it. They are riffling through the remains of the records, looking for something. He is hoping to find a map of the complex so he can locate treasure rooms, secret passages, or other important material. He cannot read, but knows how to interpret a map. The kobolds generally ignore the ruckus the goblins make and only leave this room if the dog comes in barking. They then head down the hallway to investigate.
The room has several overturned chairs and desks in it and huge wooden cabinets cover the walls. Several of the cabinets are burned. There is an old pile of burned and half–burned material in the centre of the room, mouldering with age. The few extant documents remaining in the room have been collected and piled on the floor near the door. A lantern sits nearby these documents. This is where the Kobold leader sits and goes over them.
- They are waiting for her, forewarned by the dog.
- Elowen has a conversation with the kobolds, asking what they were looking for and what was going on.
- When she said that she was looking for a gnoll, the lead kobold scowls and nods at one of them.
- Elowen is surprised as a musty bag is thrown over her head, and her wrists bound.
- Magpie casts Elemental Manipulation and suppress the lantern flames, plunging everything into near-darkness.
- Glint rushes in and attacks one of the further kobolds with a double-handed attack.
- Garax rushes in and attacks the last of the further kobolds, leaving it shaken.
- Magpie bolts the closest Kobold and kills it.
- Slissas (the lead kobold) decides to leg it.
- Davian looses an arrow and tags the kobold in the shoulder.
- Glint runs into the passageway and throws his mangled hand axes at the kobold.
- Davian feeds the little dog who seems friendly enough, after releasing Elowen.
- Garax takes a moment to finish off the last kobold.
- Glint finishes off the kobold who were trying to release the locks on a wolf cage.
- Magpie casts Lock to ensure that the cage remains closed.
- From the side, Glint is flanked by a gnoll, a flail slamming into his side.
- Glint takes his battle axe and smote the gnoll, taking it down.
