Sesson Overview

In-game Date: 16 Falkhyn 1197md, Late-afternoon

• The combat was completed last session. the weapons and armours collected.
• Before they started, Davian looked thoughtful. He recommended that they remove all evidence of the goblins and any combat.
• They looked at each other, realising that it was just common sense to hide the traces before they get discovered.
• Magpie uses Elemental Manipulation to soften the ground so Elowen can use Burrow to deeply bury the corpses before Magpie removes all traces of any burial.
• The party decided to climb up the bluff and onto the old The Imperial Road, and set up camp.
• They kept watch through the night.
  • First Watch (Elowen & Davian): Nothing

  • Final Watch (Magpie): Movement in the trees above him.
• Magpie starts moving around, only to be attacked by two strange flying creatures: they both grapple him and one has a solid strike in his back with a sharp proboscis.
  • He yells in pain, which awakes Glint.
  • Garax spots the creatures that are attached to Magpie Neverbay|Magpie]] and yells that they are Stirges.
  • Magpie, in pain, reaches over his shoulder and touches the one that is sucking from his shoulder, sending a bolt of eldritch power that causes it to pop like a blooded boil.
  • Glint throws one of his throwing axes at the remainder but misses. embedding it in a tree.
  • By this time, Elowen and Davian are awake.
  • Elowen uses her power to Lower Attribute on the final creature and makes it fall to the ground.
  • Davian takes his short sword and skewers it to the dirt.
• Magpie flutters to the ground and casts puppy-eyes at Elowen, asking her if she would help him.
• She rolls her eyes and signals his to undress his torso. She efficiently padded the wounds with a poultice and tightly bandaged his shoulder.

In-game Date: 17 Falkhyn 1197md, Early Morning

• The party break camp and continue walking north along the old The Imperial Road, Magpie is sat upon Glint's pack to relax from his injuries.
• The day is long and arduous, and as it comes to the evening, the heroes can hear song, music and laughter from a large cottonwood tree nearby.
• Magpie grins when he hears it and recommended that the party change direction to follow the sounds.
  • They looked at him askance and he rolled his eyes with a snort. He said that the music is coming from a Fae Tree Fort so they could camp in safety.
  • As they approached the tree, there are cries of alarm, the music stops, and there is a feeling of magic being used upon them. Magpie, Glint and Davian are unaffected but Elowen and Garax are made to change a different route.
  • Magpie calls out and asks for sanctuary. There is the sound of voices arguing before a single male Pixie guard steps into view.
  • The pair have a very quick conversation in Shindolay Elvish, before the guard beckons them closer to the tree.
  • In the boughs of the Fae Tree Fort, there is a single Pixie Queen and her court. She invites them to camp at the root of the tree, and to join their festivities.
  • The Queen uses her native power to grow in size until she is of a similar size to Magpie.
  • She caresses his forehead, examining the silver lily and comments that he had asked a boon of the Goddess, and owes her a debt.
  • She sends him to the healers where they are able to repair his injuries with balms and poultices.
  • The night passes merrily, the heroes enjoy food, drink and song with the Pixies.

In-game Date: 18 Falkhyn 1197md, Morning

• Once again, the heroes are packing up their camp and saying their goodbyes to the Pixie Queen and her court.
• They make her way back to the The Imperial Road and continue heading northwards towards the location the Pixies named Kuthrad Ondal.
• The morning passes without incidence, they arrive at a junction. The The Imperial Road still heads northwards and southwards but there is a trackway leading eastwards.
• The heroes check the hand-made map from the goblins and realise that the symbol for danger is to the east.
• As they consider what to do, they hear the sound of heavy footsteps, coming from the north and headed this way.
• Magpie quickly flies up into the sky to take a look.
  • He returns to the group to describe a very large creature (10ft) with grey skin, clad in hides and dragging a large spiked club.
  • Glint and Garax identify it as an Ogre.

• The party quickly throw together a hasty ambush.
  • Elowen uses Boost Attribute to increase Magpie's Spellcasting ability.
  • Magpie uses Elemental Manipulation to create a pit, 2ft across and 4-5ft deep.
  • Glint and Davian ready their grappling hooks and ropes to entangle the creature.
  • Everyone takes cover in the bushes and trees.
  • As the creature approached, Magpie saw that the Ogre was large enough that it may step over the pit.
  • He quickly uses his magic to create a distraction.
  • The Ogre is extremely dull-witted and stumbles in a circle, its right leg falling into the pit.
  • It made a howl of pain as it ended up in the splits.
  • Glint and Davian loosed their ropes and grapples; Davian's didn't succeed but Glint managed to swing around the Ogre and entangle its body and right arm, disabling its weapon.
  • Davian loosed an arrow at the Ogre , hitting it but there was little effect.
  • Glint keeps hold of the ropes, keeping the Ogre entangled.
  • Davian runs up to the Ogre and throws a flask of oil on it, then tries to light it with his flint'n'steel.
  • Garax throws an additional flask of oil on the Ogre.
  • Magpie uses Elemental Manipulation to move the fire on Elowen's torch to the Ogre and causing damage.
  • The Ogre growls in pain and fear, and swings its free arm to attack the closest assailant.
  • Davian is hit and sent flying to crash in a heap of broken bones (in a similar way that Magpie was sent flying by the bandits).
  • Garax draws up his double-handed axe, charges at the Ogre and dissects it.
  • Elowen moves to Davian and starts assessing his injuries.
