Session Overview
In-game Date: 7th Falkhyn 1197md, Mid-morning
- Arriving at Treefell, the group do a small recon of the village as the caravan hand over the corpse to the church.
- There is a statue in the common square, of a wizard leaning on a staff and holding up an orb of some kind.
- There is a general store where Magpie speak to the owner, who is quite vocal about the local priest, claiming necromancy.
- There is an inn where Davian speaks to the innkeeper, who is not very forthcoming with information.
- The sign on the inn says that the doors will be closed and barred at dusk. No Exceptions.
- Davian is roughly pushed aside by a young man who scowls at him.
- Glint scouts the church, spending some time inside on a pew, contemplating something.
- He overhears the priest about a missing orb and that the village was in trouble.
- When questioned, the priest says nothing about that but recommends that he and his colleagues come to the church for a vigil.
- Davian decides to follow the young man from the inn and meets up with Magpie.
- The group speak to a old lady who sat next to the well.
- They learn about the statue of Jerimond, and his story.
- They learn that the orb shines so much that a blind lady could see her way home.
- They take a closer look at the statue
- They find that the orb is a cheap glass gem, made to look like a star sapphire.
- The hand shows dagger marks, as if a thief has pried a gem out.
In-game Date: Same date, Dusk
- The group join some 70+ people at the church. The priest leads a prayer then invites them to join him.
- The priest is named DuVall.
- The church is holy ground, keeping the creatures away.
- The church used to be Jerimond's home until his tower was built.
- He believes that the Orb keeps the creatures away.
- Jerimond's journals are under the statue.
- The books are in some form of code.
- He has some notes about the code but it is missing.
- The group go and investigate the inn.
- There is a single creature trapping in the lower chambers.
- A set of clothing are on the floor, along with a sword.
- The group go and investigate the statue.
- Glint goes to investigate the general store.
- As the party met up together, they hear a shrill female scream from between two buildings.
- They find a young girl screaming, trying to fend off three creatures.
- Magpie uses his magic to kill one of them.
- Glint kills a second.
- Between Davian and Magpie, they finish off the third.
- The young girl is Petra Perkins, daughter of the general store owner.
- The creature in that building was her father, and killed her father. Much like it killed her little sister.
- She hands them a bundle of papers with Jerimond's cartouche.
- She said that she was planning to meet 'Cole' at the old tower.
- At that moment, the church bells start to ring.
- The party head towards the church but find that there are 10 creatures assaulting it.
- Believing the church to be protected, the party decided to check the tower.
- They search the outside of the tower.
- Magpie flies over and into the top floor, finding it derelict. Used to be a magical workshop.
- There are stairs headed down to the main floor.
- In the main room, there is a large fireplace, two pillars and a door with light shining under the door.
- They quickly scan the room and find lots of papers with notes on them.
- One of the pillars look to have some sort of markings on them.
- They can hear noises from the other room.
- Magpie goes through the door and encounters a bandit.
- Magpie orders him to surrender.
- The bandit attempts to strike the small fairy whilst calling for help.
- Magpie uses his magic to fry the bandit but his companions enter from the door beyond this kitchen.
- The bandits attack and the poor fairy is sent flying through the doorway and into the wall. He falls to the group, stunned and seriously wounded (4 wounds) with a shattered leg and hip.
- Glint takes a moment to put the fairy in his pack before attacking the bandits.
- Davian tries to grapple with one of the bandits.
- Davian recognizes the leader as the young man that pushed him aside.
- The leader and two of the bandits are killed, and Glint grapples the last one to submission.
