- The festival of Cuthr, the day of the Day Star, and the starting of the caravan from Ascalon to Malforten (Old).
- Glint, Magpie and Davian have joined the caravan.
- Working as caravan guards to pay for passage to Malforten.
- Headed to the North Badlands to make their fortunes.
- Over several days, they make friends over food, sparing and conversations.
In-game Date: 6th Falkhyn 1197md, Past Dusk
- One night, Glint is aware of something watching the caravan.
- Being spotted, a humanoid creature howls and lunges from the shadows at Glint.
- Davian is woken by the sound as Glint draws his axes.
- Between them, they bound the creature that growls and howls at them.
- By this time, the rest of the caravan is awake.
- Seeing that this creature kept trying to escape, Glint cuts its throat.
In-game Date: 7th Falkhyn 1197md, Dawn
- At dawn, the sunlight on the creature's body causes it to shrink back into a human body.
- Dressed in common clothing, no wounds on it except those from Glint and Davian Rusparva's weapons.
- The body is wrapped in cloth and placed on one of the carts, the caravan will take it to the church at Treefell.
